Members
While Golden Key members benefit from simply being members, the UCD chapter encourages members to remain active in the chapter.
Member Point System
In order for the UCD chapter to achieve the standards established by the
National Golden Key office, the officers created a minimum-criteria policy
for all members to maintain good standing. Members will be awarded activity
points based upon their level of participation. To maintain "active"
membership status, you must earn 5 points in a single academic year. You
need to be an "active" member in order to qualify for Golden Key
scholarships. Points are earned as follows:
| Points Earned | Activity |
1 |
Joining our Social Network (one point each for Twitter and Facebook) |
2 |
Donating Goods at Any literacy/Clothing/Food Drive |
3 |
Attending Any Officer Meeting |
4 |
Attending Any Open House or Social Event |
5 |
Attending Any Community Service Event |
10 |
Spearheading And Social or Community Service Event |
* Active Membership is 5 points
* Free honor cord at 10 points
* Free stole at 15 points
* Two members with the most accumulated points, at the end of the year, will each receive a $500 scholarship!
What's in it for you?
The member who earns the most points by the Induction Ceremony will receive
the UCD Golden Key Most Valued Participant award. Everyone who reaches "active"
status will be entered in the giveaway drawing for the chance to win prizes.
In addition, graduating seniors who maintain "active" status will
receive a free blue-and-gold Golden Key honor cord.
